QUESTION
What is the Kia Dynamax AWD System?
ANSWER
The Kia Dynamax™ System is an all-wheel drive technology used in several Kia models (
Seltos,
Sorento,
Sportage,
Telluride,
and
Stinger). It uses electronic sensors to constantly monitor road and driving conditions and automatically adjusts power distribution to the front and rear wheels, providing improved handling and traction in various weather and road conditions. The Dynamax system also includes a locking differential for better off-road capabilities.
Kia Dynamax™ AWD is an intelligent all-wheel drive system that will upgrade performance at every turn without sacrificing fuel economy. The Kia Dynamax™ system employs a system of sensors and an intelligent control unit that will continuously monitor driving conditions and vehicle input. When the system detects a loss of traction, it will divert torque to the rear wheels to improve traction and performance. To ensure flawless performance, the Kia Dynamax™ AWD system features a multi-plate clutch and electro-hydraulic actuation system.
ADVANTAGES
The Dynamax™ All Wheel Drive System has the following advantages over tradition 4WD vehicles;
- Improved Traction in Poor Weather or Rough Road Conditions
- Improved Stability and Cornering
- Reduced Risk of Understeer
- High Thermal Capacity Prevents Overheating
- Improved Fuel Economy and Emissions
